Leadership Program
THE DUE DATE FOR THE LEADERSHIP PROGRAM EVALUATION SURVEY IS 7 OCTOBER 2024.
Please note, if you are running for a House Committee role your Leadership Program Evaluation Survey MUST be submitted by the Monday the 7th of October at the latest.
Overview
The Leadership Program must be completed by all students who wish to apply for 2024 roles as:
- House Committee Leaders (elected position)
- Pastoral Care Leaders (appointed position)
- Student Mentors (appointed position)
The Leadership Program is designed to equip students with the skills they need to lead while also allowing them to demonstrate that they have the commitment and organisation required to be a leader in College. It should be remembered that being a leader is not a light undertaking.
In order to fulfill the requirements of the Leadership Program, students need to complete a number of Leadership activities conducted throughout the year. A range of targeted activities are offered to students in order for them to accumulate Leadership training points. Once the requisite number of points have been accumulated (8 minimum), students are then eligible to run for a House Committee position or apply for a Pastoral Care Leader or Student Mentor role for the following year. Students must accumulate a minimum of 8 points but are strongly encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible to gain a greater of understanding of what it means to be a leader.
Students will also be tasked with completing a brief program evaluation survey at the conclusion of semester 2 sessions/activities. Completion of Leadership Program sessions will not be recognised if the evaluation survey has not been submitted by Monday the 2nd of October.
Criteria for 1st Year Students
First year students who would like to be considered for a 2025 student leader role (House Committee, Pastoral Care Leader or Student Mentor) will need to have fulfilled all requirements of the 2024 compulsory Community Living program.
In addition, first year students will also need to participate in the Leadership Program and obtain a minimum of 8 leadership points to be eligible for a 2025 leadership position.
If you are unsure if you have completed the Community Living program requirements please check your attendance details here.
Criteria for 2nd Year and Above Students
As students 2nd year and above have already completed the compulsory Cultural Competency modules in 2023, you will only need to obtain a minimum of 8 leadership points (and complete the Leadership Program evaluation survey) to be eligible for a 2025 leadership position.
Leadership Program Activities
Additional activities and events may be added to the Leadership Program for Semester 2. We ask that you check regularly for updates.
All sessions, including submission of the evaluation survey will conclude by Monday the 2nd of October.
